A miniskirted Pamela Anderson Lee was in court on Monday to defend herself
against a breach- of- contract suit. The former Baywatch babe is being sued by the producers of
the cable movie Hello, She Lied, who claim she backed out of an agreement
to appear in the film because she received a better offer, namely the feature
film Barb Wire. Lee's lawyer, Major Langer, contended that the Playboy pinup never agreed to the contract because she felt the script was too racy. But
Adam Miller, lawyer for the plaintiffs, wasn't buying that argument. "Your
Honor, this is Pamela Anderson," he told Los Angeles Superior Court Judge
David Horowitz. "Pamela Anderson has never done a project outside
television that did not have nudity." Langer claimed that Lee dropped out
of the film because she was uncomfortable with simulated sex scenes in a shower
and on a pool table (that does sound uncomfortable). "One thing is true,
Pamela Lee does not and never has had a problem with nudity," said Langer.
"[However], she did have a problem with the nudity and sexuality in this
film." He noted that the questionable scenes were dropped when the film was
later made with model Kathy Ireland in the lead. Miller says that Lee's decision
to leave the picture was entirely motivated by her desire to make Barb Wire,
which subsequently bombed at the box office. "This was her major chance to
be a movie star," he said. This is only the latest court battle for Lee.
She and her husband, Mötley Crüe drummer Tommy Lee, recently sued Penthouse,
claiming that the magazine published pictures of them from a sexually explicit
video. A judge later dismissed the suit. Lee, who arrived in court without her
rocker hubby, is expected to testify sometime during the trial, which could last
a week.
