Pamela Lee,
Michael Jackson Win Rounds in Court
Pamela Anderson Lee and Michael Jackson each got some good news from the
legal front. Lee, currently battling a $5- million lawsuit for pulling out of the Showtime movie Hello, She Lied,
had one of the three claims against her dismissed on Tuesday. Los Angeles
Superior Court Judge David Horowitz threw out the Private Movie Co.'s claim that
it lost money because Lee failed to appear in the film, saying there wasn't
enough evidence that the company relied on Lee's verbal agreement to star in the
film. Last week, Lee testified that she dropped out of the project because she
objected to scenes that called for her to simulate sex. The judge said he will
wait until the end of the trial before ruling on the two breach- of- contract allegations still facing the former Baywatch babe.
Michael Jackson can claim victory. The final part of a wrongful- termination suit filed by one of his ex- security guards was thrown out by Judge David Horowitz on Tuesday. Jerome "J.J."
Johnson claimed he was fired by Jackson's production company after he allegedly
overheard Jackson's security chief Bill Bray bragging about how he lied to the
grand jury investigating child- molestation allegations against the singer. (No charges were ever filed against
Jackson, who later settled a civil lawsuit with his teenage accuser for an
estimated $15 million.) Horowitz said Johnson's suit was meritless.
